6.10 Firing with the specified nominal heat output
After at least 2 firings with the settings from the start-up, you can operate the unit with the specified
nominal heat output. When firing with the nominal heat output, the operating elements are set so that
an optimum of efficiency and emissions is achieved.
To do this, reduce the smoke flap during full fire until the fire burns calmly and pleasantly. After a
waiting period of about 5min, you can also start to reduce the air regulator slowly if necessary. The
setting of the air regulator is strongly dependent on the length of the combustion air pipe and the wind
conditions. The settings of the smoke damper and the combustion air can vary from day to day
depending on the weather conditions, outside temperature and the wood used.
Danger of muffled explosion!
If the operating elements are set to light load too early, this can result in a lack of oxygen in the
firebox. A sudden inflow of air can cause a muffled explosion and damage the system.
▪ Adjust the operating elements only if no naked flames have been visible for more than five
minutes.
▪ Do not open the fire door if you suspect a lack of oxygen.
▪ If you suspect a lack of oxygen open the air regulator slowly and in several stages.
Window pollution
To increase efficiency and improve emissions, excess air must be reduced during combustion.
This is done by reducing the smoke damper and air regulator. As a result, less air is available for
the pane flushing and the pane fouling may increase under certain circumstances.
