Certification of SuSi:
Although the Susi 18 and 20 sizes are certified we don't believe that this certification category
is equivalent to that of a standard-sized wing. The 18 and 20 are fulfilling the LFT/EN norm but
these certification standards were not formulated to deal with 'special' cases. Mini wings are
special, with high internal pressure and higher dynamics than standard sized paragliders.
During the certification processes certain manoeuvres are tested and the resulting recovery
ranked, but not the gliders characteristic's or the pilots profile.
We used folding lines (collapse lines) to certify these sizes. Folding lines are attached in front of
the standard A-line connection tabs. Making collapses with the normal line configuration is
very difficult due to the extremely high collapse resistance of mini wings. The folding lines are
used to get a collapse to the required angle of collapse which is defined by the norm. Collapses
induced with folding lines do not necessarily reflect the same behaviour as the glider will show
in normal flight.
Safety Information and FAQ´s
SuSi2 can be described as a mini-wing, meaning it is a small paraglider with characteristics
comparable to a paraglider rather than a speed wing. SuSi2 has an accelerator (speed bar) and
no trimmers. It is suitable for thermic flights, mountain descents and soaring – a true multi-
purpose paraglider.
SuSi2 is slightly faster than a standard paraglider to maximize agility and the fun flying
experience. For better glide, pull down the C-risers. (see above tips & Techniques)
The SuSi range comes in various sizes from 14m² to 20m². Sizes 14 is load- and shock tested
according to EN 926-1. Size 16 and 18 is also type-tested within LTF/EN-D and size 20 is type-
tested LTF/EN-C.

In general, SuSi2 is no more difficult or dangerous than any other wing, but pilots should
possess the skill level needed to control it. SuSi2 can be flown like a standard paraglider but
