● No presettings are needed for master-slave
operation.
● A ventilation unit automatically becomes a
master if the master unit is set to receive
mode and a teach-in telegram is received
from a slave unit.
● A ventilation unit becomes a slave unit if this
slave transmits a teach-in telegram to the
master unit and the master confirms it.
● If a master unit receives a valid teach-in
telegram from an EnOcean component
that has not yet been taught in, the data is
evaluated and stored.
● Set values are transferred from the master
to the slave in cycles, e.g. ventilation level,
operating mode and sensor measurements.
Data, timer and changeover times are
also transferred in cycles and the transfer
confirmed.
● If the master does not receive a response
from the slave unit within a defined time,
that unit pair affected switches to fault.
● If the slave unit doesn't receive cyclic que-
ries from the master, it switches to fault. The
faults are displayed using LED flash code
 Chapter 11.
Teaching in unit pairs
Determine unit pair. Then teach in the slave
ventilation unit on the master, then teach in
the radio switch and radio sensors.
1. Switch the mains fuse on.
2. Remove front cover [1] on the units.
3. Switch the master ventilation unit (recei-
ver) into teach-in mode by pressing the
LEARN key [16] on the master for
2 seconds. All 3 LEDs flash, teach-in
mode is activated.
Now, a teach-in telegram must be

received within 120 seconds or the
teach-in mode is terminated.
4. Activate teach-in mode on the slave ven-
tilation unit (transmitter). Press the LEARN
key here for 2 seconds. All 3 LEDs flash.

5. Switch slave unit into send-learn mode
– press LEARN key briefly once. The
3 LEDs on the slave flash once and then
go out (periodic process).
6. Press the LEARN key on the slave
(> 2 seconds) until the LEDs on the slave
briefly light up once and then go out.
The teach-in telegram is sent.
When a teach-in telegram is correctly re-
ceived, teach-in mode is exited by the receiv-
er and transmitter.
If the master unit is still in teach-in mode (3
LEDs flashing), the teach-in telegram from the
slave unit has not arrived  Repeat process.
7. Fit front cover for internal housing [1] on
the units such that it locks into the safety
catches. Before putting on the front cover,
the shutter must always be open. To do
this, switch on the RC unit.
8. Run function test.
Teaching-in radio switches
1. Remove front cover [1] on the master.
2. Switch the master ventilation unit (receiv-
er) into teach-in mode by pressing the
teach-in key [16] on the master for
2 seconds. All 3 LEDs flash, teach-in
mode is activated.
3. Press the rocker switch "Ventilation level"
1x. The teach-in telegram is sent. Both
keys are now taught. Once teaching-in
has been successfully completed, LEARN
mode is exited.
4. Fit front cover for internal housing [1] on
the master unit such that it locks into the
safety catches. Before putting on the front
cover, the shutter must always be open.
To do this, briefly switch on the RC unit.
5. Run function test.
Teaching in radio sensor.

2. Switch the master ventilation unit (receiver)
into teach-in mode by pressing the LEARN
key [16] on the master for 2 seconds. All
3 LEDs flash, teach-in mode is activated.
