b) Electrical safety
• The power adapter is a Protection Class II appliance. Only a proper mains socket
(100-240 V/AC 50/60 Hz) of the public power supply grid may be used as a voltage source.
• Use only the supplied power adapter to power the internet radio.
• The outlet must be close to the device and easily accessible.
• Never touch the power unit with wet or damp hands. There is danger of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Make sure the power adapter cable is not pinched, bent, damaged by sharp edges or otherwise subjected
to mechanical strain. Avoid excess thermal stress on the power adapter caused by excessive heat or
cold. Do not modify the power adapter. Failure to adhere to these instructions may lead to damage of the
power adapter. A damaged power adapter can result in a life-threatening electric shock.
• If the power unit is damaged, do not touch it. First switch off the appropriate mains socket (e.g., via the
automatic circuit breaker and RCD) and then carefully unplug the power adapter from the mains socket.
Never operate the product with a damaged power unit.
• Never replace damaged connecting cables of the power adapter. If the connecting cable is damaged, the
power adapter is unusable and must be disposed of. Repairs are not permitted.
• Never position liquid-holding containers, such as glasses, buckets, vases or plants, on or directly near
the device or the power adapter. Liquids may get inside the casing and thus impair the electrical safety
of the device. Furthermore, there is a significant risk of fire or of a lethal electric shock! In such a case,
switch the corresponding mains socket off (e.g., switch off circuit breaker and RCD) and then carefully
remove the power adapter from the mains socket. Do not use the product after this; take it to a specialist
workshop.
• Do not place open flames, such as burning candles, on or near the device.
• Use the device only in temperate climates, not in a tropical climate.
c) Batteries/Rechargeable Batteries
• Please observe the correct polarity when inserting batteries/rechargeable batteries.
• If you are not going to use the remote control for a while, remove the batteries/rechargeable batteries
to prevent damage from leaking. Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries can cause acid
burns upon contact with the skin. Thus, you should wear protective gloves when handling damaged

batteries/rechargeable batteries.

• Keep the batteries/rechargeable batteries out of the reach of children. Do not leave batteries lying
around, as they may be swallowed by children or pets.
• Replace all the batteries/rechargeable batteries at the same time. Mixing old and new batteries/
rechargeable batteries or mixing different batteries/rechargeable batteries in the device may lead to
battery leaks and will thus damage the remote control.
• Do not dismantle batteries/rechargeable batteries, do not short-circuit them and do not throw them into
fire. Never charge conventional, non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion.
