12 Mounting the camera and solar cell

12.1 Mounting the camera

Mount the camera only on a stable surface, but not on metal surfaces or near
other electrical/electronic devices.
Select the installation site so that it is protected against attempts to tamper with
the surveillance camera. For this reason, the surveillance camera should be
mounted at a minimum height of 2.5 m.
The PIR motion sensor is sensitive to cold and warm disturbances. Therefore,
avoid mounting the camera close to a fan, an air conditioner or a ventilation
outlet.
Before permanent installation, the camera should be set up and connected to
your smartphone. Also, ensure that the transmission and signal reception are
functioning properly at the chosen place of installation.
Environmental factors can reduce wireless signal range and quality. To this
end, please also observe the section "Range" further on in this manual.
When installing the wireless camera outdoors, we recommend placing it in a
location that is protected against rain/spray water (e.g. under eaves), as water
droplets/spray water on the front of the wireless camera may lead to a distorted
image.
If dowels are needed to fix the camera mount (white) at the chosen place of
installation (depending on the configuration), mark the exact position of the three
mounting holes through the mount.
Ensure the ball joint opening points in the right direction when aligning the
mount. It can point in all four directions depending on the desired direction of
your camera. Ideally, test in advance with the camera screwed on to see which
mounting direction is the most sensible.
Make sure you do not damage any existing wires or pipes when drilling mount-
ing holes or tightening screws.
