9 Notes on surveillance
9.1 Privacy
Users must familiarise themselves with and comply with all applicable laws and
regulations prohibiting or restricting the use of cameras.
Recording and circulating an image of an individual may constitute an infringe-
ment of their privacy for which you may be held liable.
Ask for authorisation before filming individuals, particularly if you want to keep
your recordings on the Internet or any other medium and/or distribute the
images.
Do not distribute degrading images or those that could tarnish the reputation or
dignity of an individual or otherwise cause harm.
9.2 Surveillance cameras
In your country it may be a legal requirement to display a warning when using
surveillance cameras on your property. In such cases, it is necessary to display
a sticker or sign with a warning notice in a place where it is clearly visible to
anyone entering your property without authorisation.
You should not point cameras where surveillance extends to public areas, and
video recordings should not identify people in a public space.
