17.1 Adjusting the saddle

To be able to put an adequate pedaling
force on the pedals, you need to adjust your
saddle appropriately.
• To do so, adjust the saddle height and
position.
• After the adjustment process, make sure
to close the seat post clamp completely
again and to tighten the screw connec-
tions for the adjustment of the saddle
position correctly!
„ Before starting your ride, make sure
that the seat post and saddle are securely
fastened. To do so, grasp the saddle at
the very front and back and try to turn it. It
may not allow itself to be moved.
Important:
i
unsteady when cycling should be
able to reach the ground with the tip
of their foot. Otherwise, there is a
risk of falling and serious injury
when stopping.
Saddle height
The seat post has a mark for the maximum
extension height.

WARNING!
Risk of accident and injury
If you exceed the maximum extension
height of the seat post, the seat post
may buckle or break. Serious falls and
injuries can result.
• Observe the maximum extension
height of the seat post. Never ride
with the support pulled out further.
Important: If you need a longer
i
seat post to achieve the correct
seat height, contact your FLYER
specialist dealer.
How to find the right saddle height:
• Sit on your e-bike and, with the crank in
the vertical position, place the heel of
your foot on the lower pedal with your
shoes off.
Now the leg below should be stretched.
„ If this is not the case, dismount, adjust
the saddle in the necessary direction and
try again.
Important: If your e-bike has a sus-
i
pension seat post, keep in mind that
the saddle compresses when you
sit on it. The saddle therefore has a
higher position than usual when
standing or mounting. This situation
can initially lead to uncertainty for
inexperienced cyclists.
Saddle position
The horizontal position of the saddle can
and should also be adjusted.
„ The best cycling position is when your
front knee is exactly above the pedal with
the crank in a horizontal position.
Important: The horizontal adjust-
i
ment of the saddle may only take
place within the markings and the
range specified by the manufac-
turer.
„ Have your FLYER specialist dealer
adjust the horizontal saddle position or
instruct you to do so.
