Processing
NOTE
The non-conductive surfaces to be adhered
must be clean and free from dusts, separating
layers of oils, greases and release agents, as
well as other soiling/contamination.
1. Bring the sensor head up to room
temperature before attaching.
2. Trim sensor head to desired measuring
length (min. 108 mm) using a suitable
cutting tool (optional).
3. Clean/prepare attachment surface:
a. Wear appropriate gloves.
b. Use clean cloths (lint-free, no perfumes
or softening agents)
c. Always use appropriate cleaning agents,
e.g. acetone (no moisturizing household
cleaners).
d. Repeat cleaning process until the surface
is clean and free of grease.
RECOMMENDATION
For glass surfaces use 3M Silan Glass PRIMER.
For adhesion-critical plastic surfaces, such as
low-energy plastics, use 3M Tape primer 94.
4. Attach sensor head (at room temperature):
a. Partially peel back film at one end.
b. Do not touch the attachment surface.
c. Place the adhesive sensor on the
surface.
d. Continue to peel back the film and repeat
the process.
e. Press/roll on the adhesive sensor using
approx. 20 N/cm² of force. Be sure there
are no air bubbles.
The final adhesive force at 20 °C is reached after
72 hours.

5. Seal cut edge:
a. Clean surface.
b. Remove protective cover from sealing
tape. Do not touch the attachment
surface.
c. Apply sealing tape over the full cut edge
of the sensor head.
d. Press the elastic sealing tape using a
force of approx. 20 N/cm² in all corners
and along all edges.
e. Remove upper protective foil.
The sealing tape does not require any drying
time.
