2.1 Description of the FeVac

system

The Bose FeVac system consists of the FeVac One and the FeVac Two units.
®
The FeVac system continuously checks the critical devices used for voice evacuation messages and the
links to the fire detection system. In an emergency situation FeVac automatically issues pre-recorded
evacuation messages or allows a controlled evacuation with microphone messages.
At the centre of this system lies the FeVac One unit. FeVac One monitors the connected microphones,
alarm contacts, alarm startswitch and UPS contacts. FeVac One also has fault output contacts, a status
display and a fault indicator.
The FeVac Two unit extends the system to monitor the connected amplifiers, backup amplifiers and
loudspeaker cabling. Up to 16 FeVac Two units can be connected to one FeVac One, to monitor up to 96
amplifier/loudspeaker zones. FeVac Two automatically warns of problems and substitutes one of the two
backup amplifiers should one of the primary amplifiers fail. FeVac Two also continuously monitors the
loudspeaker circuits and warns of any unexpected changes.
FeVac One and FeVac Two are compliant with the IEC60849, NEN2575 and BS5839 part 8 regulations.
The FeVac system can be used with a variety of audio control systems. The system allows quality
amplifiers and speakers to be used for both voice messages and background music. The FeVac system
