Function
The PolarRex D is a 1 or 2 channel electronic defrost and impulse weekly time switch. The impulse length (defrost duration) is to be set once. Input
of max 14 start times is possible. They can be repeated on every day of the week or on any day(s) of your choice (block program).
The max 14 start times may be distributed at will on any day of the week. Channel 1 and if existing channel 2 run from the start time for the set
impulse duration.
Channel 1 e.g.: defrost time or defrost impulse
(1 st impulse time)
Channel 2 e.g.: fan delay or safety cutout time
(2 nd impulse time)
Due to the important starting current of a compressor, a contactor should be mounted between time switch and compressor.
Application a pulse contact (KI): A PolarRex DKK can be used for this application. Channel 1 must as the pulse contact (minimum time: 1 minute).
2 channel time switch with external control contact (PolarRex DKKS): In this application the external contact affects the operation of the defrost
or impulse cycle. A thermostat is an example of an external contact which could be used. Only when the 230V is present, will the impulse or defrost
cycle be affected. The external contact can shorten the impulse or defrost duration (see diagram).
