Inserting / Removing the Sieve Insert
1. Insert the appropriate sieve insert (17, 21) into the portafi lter (16).
2. To remove the sieve insert from the portafi lter, use the cleaning needle (20) if necessary. This
can be slid between the portafi lter and sieve insert to lever out the sieve insert.
Filling the Portafi lter
1. Touch the fi eld
2. Make sure that the bean container is inserted correctly (see the "Cleaning and Care"
chapter – "Cleaning the Grinder") and is fi lled with suffi cient espresso beans (see the
"Preparation" chapter – "Adding Espresso Beans").
3. If the control lamps in the fi elds
operate.
4. Place the portafi lter (16) with sieve insert into the coffee powder outlet (12) (Picture E).
5. Touch the fi eld
the grinding process. Freshly ground espresso powder drops into the portafi lter. Once the set
quantity of espresso powder has been ground, the grinding process stops automatically. The
fi eld is constantly lit.
6. Press the espresso powder down well in the portafi lter with the tamper.
7. Remove excess espresso powder from the rim of the portafi lter.
You can also add espresso powder that has already been ground to the portafi lter. Bear in
mind that this can also be pressed down well with the tamper.
PLEASE NOTE: If the espresso powder is pressed down too fi rmly, the water cannot fl ow
through it. The brewing process is then aborted, a warning signal is heard and all fi elds light
up.
Inserting the Portafi lter into the Device
1. Hold the fi lled portafi lter (16) fi rmly by the handle and insert it at a 45° angle into the
portafi lter mount (10).
2. Twist the portafi lter to the right, as far as it will go. The handle points straight forwards.
Removing the Portafi lter from the Device
1. Hold the portafi lter (16) by the handle and turn it approx. 45° to the left.
2. It is released and can be pulled down and out of the device.
(22) to switch on the device.
(30) and
(single espresso, 30) or
(23) are lit white, the grinder (3) is ready to
(double espresso, 23). The fi eld fl ashes during
