Tip: The coffee should be dark roasted and freshly ground. Ground coffee
keeps its original taste for about 8 days, even of stored in an air-tight
container in a cool and dark place. This is why we recommend grinding the
coffee beans just before usage. Coffee beans say fresh for 4 weeks if they
are stored in an air-tight container.
The taste of the espresso depends greatly on the size of the grounds after
grinding. If the grinding size is to fine, the brewing water can't flow
through - even when under pressure. If the coffee is ground too coarse,
the brewing water flows through to quickly and the taste is watery. The
correct granulation after grinding looks about as fine as household salt.

Filling the water tank

1. Open the water tank cover.
2. Use a container to fill the water tank with cold, fresh water. You
can remove the water tank at the top and fill it directly under the
tap. Observe the MIN and MAX markings.
3. Re-insert the water tank correctly into the unit: Hang it into the
mount on the top part and then press down firmly.
4. Close the water tank cover.

Filling the milk tank

You will need milk to make cappuccinos and late macchiatos.
1. Remove the milk tank from the unit: lift the front slightly upwards
to remove it from the locking mechanism. Then you can easily
remove it forwards out of the unit.
2. Open the cover and fill with cold milk. You can use any kind of
milk. Observe the MIN and MAX markings.
3. Re-insert the milk tank into the unit, pressing it firmly against the
seal. Ensure that it snaps into the front locking mechanism.
