SRAM X-SYNC drive technology

The mechanical drive on your TEN Merano bike is based on SRAM
X-SYNC™ technology. This technology allows for a perfect guidance
through the chain ring and the rear derailleur roll.
(B)
Chain ring and gearshift roll consist of teeth alternating in width. The
wide tooth (1) fits exactly into the wide part (B) of the chain link. The slim
tooth (2) fits exactly into the slim part (S) of the chain link. This allows for a
perfect chain run and the chain can not fall off.
Should for any reason like repair works the slim part of the chain be lying
on the wide part of the chain ring or a gearshift roll, this means that the
chain is not put in its correct place and can therefore not engage with the
teeth.
Should the chain not be in its proper place on the chain ring, it
will slip through if pushing into the pedals.
Should the chain not be in its proper place on the gearshift rolls,
gear shifting will not work properly and a rattling noise will be
perceivable. Hard falls and serious injury might be the result.

Adjusting the headset

Check the headset for any clearance. To do so, pull the front wheel brake
and push your bike over your handlebar back and forth. Steering should
not have any clearance and nevertheless be able to turn slightly. Should
the steering have bearing clearance, loosen both screws (2). Tighten screw
(3) carefully until there is no clearance left in the steering. Now tighten
both screws (2) again.
Do not tighten screw (3) too much, as this might cause damage to
the headset. Should the handlebar only be turned hardly, the
screw (3) might be pulled too tightly. Loosen both screws (2)
loosen screw (3) a little and then tighten both screws (2) firmly again.
