Formatting a Memory Stick
You can use the MEMORY FORMAT functions to completely delete all
images and options on a Memory Stick,
including protected images.
The format function restores the Memory Stick to its initial states.
The Memory Stick supplied with this camcorder has been formatted
already.
Attention
If you execute the MEMORY FORMAT function, all images will be
erased completely and erased images cannot be recovered.
1. Set the mode switch to MEMORY STICK.
2. Set the power switch to PLAYER.
3. Press the MENU button.
4. Turn the MENU DIAL to highlight MEMORY and press the ENTER button.
The sub menu will appear.
5. Select FORMAT from the list and press the ENTER button.
6. "ALL FILES ARE DELETED! FORMAT REALLY?" appears on the screen.
7. Using the MENU DIAL, select the item.
NO : To return to previous menu
YES : To start formatting.
8. Press the ENTER button.
9. To exit the menu, press the MENU button.
Reference
"Memory stick" formatted on the PC with the USB adaptor (not supplied)
do not have a guaranteed compatibility with this camcorder.
If you want to format the Memory Stick on the PC, use the "Memory Stick
formatter" supplied with the software CD.

Memory Stick formatieren
Mit der Menüoption MEMORY FORMAT können Sie alle auf einem Memory
Stick vorhandenen Daten löschen. Auch löschgeschützte Bilder werden
beim Formatieren gelöscht.
Beim Formatieren wird der Memory Stick wieder in den Ursprungszustand
versetzt.
Der mit diesem Camcorder gelieferte Memory Stick wurde werkseitig
formatiert.
Achtung
Wenn Sie die Funktion MEMORY FORMAT ausführen, werden alle
Bilder gelöscht und können nicht wiederhergestellt werden.
1. Stellen Sie den Modus-Schalter auf MEMORY STICK.
2. Stellen Sie den Betriebsmodus-Schalter auf PLAYER.
3. Drücken Sie die Taste MENU.
4. Wählen Sie mit dem Menü-Einstellrad die Option MEMORY, und drücken
Sie die Taste ENTER.
Das Untermenü erscheint.
5. Wählen Sie FORMAT in der Liste und drücken Sie die Taste ENTER.
6. "ALL FILES ARE DELETED! FORMAT REALLY ?" wird angezeigt.
7. Wählen Sie mit dem Menü-Einstellrad die Option NO oder YES aus.
NO: Um zum vorherigen Menü zurückzukehren.
YES: Damit beginnt der Formatiervorgang.
8. Drücken Sie die Taste ENTER.
9. Um das Menü zu verlassen, drücken Sie die Taste MENU.
Hinweise
Es kann nicht garantiert werden, dass ein mit einem USB-Adapter am PC
formatierter "Memory Stick" (nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten) mit diesem
Camcorder kompatibel ist.
Wenn Sie den Memory Stick am PC formatieren möchten, sollten Sie den
mit der Software-CD mitgelieferten "Memory Stick Formatierer" verwenden.
