4. TRANSPORT AND STORAGE
4.1

Transport

DANGER!
Always consider the total weight when selecting the load attachment gear. If required, use edge protectors.
Never transport lifting magnets with magnetic lifting equipment.
4.2

Storage

Place the lifting magnet in a reserved area for the period of non-use. The storage environment must comply with the
parameters specified in section 3.3.
Carry out the following tasks before long-term storage:
Charge to battery to full capacity (see section 8.2.2) – the battery has to be recharged every 6 months.

Disconnect the battery contacts.
■
Apply a corrosion protection agent to the functional surfaces of the lifting magnet (suitable steel preservation
■
agents as per S 235 JR).
Carry out the following tasks at the end of the long-term storage:
Carry out a visual check of the lifting magnet.
■
Remove the corrosion protection from the functional surfaces.
■
Check the battery for damage, connect it and charge it to full capacity (see section 8.2.2).

Re-commissioning after storage

For checking the validity of the certification and actions, see section 6.
Risk of crushing!
There is a risk of limbs being crushed by the lifting magnets tipping over or
falling during loading, unloading and installation.
Persons may only be present outside of the hazard area. Do not stand
■
under suspended loads!
The lifting magnets must be loaded and unloaded using suitable transport
■
equipment (e.g. pallet or support frame).
Secure the lifting magnets against falling or tipping over.
■
To lift the lifting magnets, always use safety hooks that are designed for
■
the weight of the lifting magnets, so that the lifting eye cannot slip from
the hook.
Do not use any magnetic lifting devices!
