• To turn the device off, simply let go of the switches.
The hedge trimmer/pruner will switch off after relea-
sing one of the two switches.
• Pay attention to the cutting blade running on after
switching off.
Warning: Never attempt to use the hedge trim-
mer if parts are damaged or missing. Always
replace or repair parts first. Failure to do so
can lead to severe injury.

Setting the working length

Warning: Always remove the rechargeable battery
before inspection and adjustment work.
Loosen the quick-lock of the telescopic handle (7). Press
the shaft together to shorten the length or pull it apart to
lengthen the shaft. Tighten the quick-lock (7) once the
setting is complete.
NOTE: Only extend the shaft far enough to just reach the
hedge and shrubs.

Putting on the shoulder strap

WARNING! Danger of injury! If the shoulder strap is
not detached promptly in an emergency, serious injuries
can result.
• In an emergency, detach the shoulder strap from the
hedge trimmer/pruner.
• Familiarise yourself with the correct function of the
strap lock before using the hedge trimmer/pruner.
1. Place the shoulder strap (5) over your left shoulder.
2. Fasten the snap hook to the strap holder (4).
3. To open the strap lock, hold the hedge trimmer firmly
with one hand and press both sides of the strap lock
at the same time with the other.

Cleaning, maintenance and storage

Always remove the rechargeable battery from the
hedge trimmer/pruner before any work on the ma-
chine.
Your device has been designed for operation over a long
period with little maintenance. Permanent satisfactory
operation depends on diligent care and regular cleaning
of the device.
Your charger does not require any maintenance apart
from regular cleaning.
Warning: Before performing any maintenance on the
device, remove the battery. Unplug the charger before
cleaning it.
After use and prior to storage
- Clean the ventilation slots regularly with a clean, dry
paintbrush
- Only use mild soap and a moist cloth to clean the
device. Never allow any fluids to get into the device or
immerse any parts of the device in fluids.
- Remove debris using a hard brush

Storage

If the device is not going to be used for a few months, it is

preferable to leave the battery in the charger. Otherwise
proceed as follows:
- Fully charge the battery
- Remove the battery from the device
- Store the device and the battery in a safe and dry
place. The storage temperature must always be in the
range between +5 degrees Celsius and + 40 degrees
Celsius. Place the battery on a level surface.
- Before using the device after prolonged storage, fully
charge the battery again.

Repair Service

Repairs to electric power tools should only be carried out
by specialist electrical personnel.
Always keep the original packaging for a possibly re-
quired shipping of the tool.
Information for environmental protection/ dis-
posal
Dispose of the machine properly after it is worn out. Dis-
connect the mains cable in order to prevent misuse. Do
not dispose of the machine with the household waste. In
the interest of environmental protection, take it to a col-
lection point for electric machines. Your responsible local
authority can provide you with addresses and operating
times. Also take the packaging materials and worn out
accessories to the appropriate collection points.

Do not discard electric tools in the household
waste!
In accordance with European Directive 2012/19/EC on
waste electrical and electronic equipment and its im-
plementation in national law, waste electric tools must
be collected separately for environmentally-compatible
re-use.
Recycling alternative to the return invitation:
Instead of returning the electric equipment, the owner is
alternatively obligated to take part in the proper recycling
in the case of relinquishment of ownership. The waste
equipment can also be taken to a collection facility which
disposes of it in the sense of the national recycling man-
agement and waste acts. This does not pertain to the ac-
cessory parts and auxiliary equipment without electrical
components accompanying the waste equipment.

Please contact our service department if you need acces-
sories or spare parts.
When working with this machine, do not use spare parts
other than those recommended by us. Using spare parts
not recommend by us can result in serious injuries to per-
sons or damage to the machine.
The following information should be provided when or-
dering spare parts:
• Type of machine
• Item number of the machine
