For normal operation, the following
recommendation applies:
Monthly:
- Check the filter on the internal unit and
clean it if necessary.
Every six months:
- Check the condensation drain hose on
the internal unit and clean it if necessary.
- Check the heat exchanger on the
outside unit and clean it if necessary
(only to be carried out by qualified
technical personnel).
Annually:
- Change the batteries in the remote
control unit.
- Check the electrical connections (only
to be carried out by qualified technical
personnel).
- If necessary, check the securing of the
outside unit (only to be carried out by
qualified technical personnel).
- Check the internal condensation pump
(only to be carried out by qualified
technical personnel).

6.1 Cleaning the unit

The internal unit should only be wiped
down with a neutral cleaning fluid, and
rubbed down afterwards with a dry cloth.
The use of petrol, alcohol, abrasives, or
solvents is not permissible. No water may
be allowed to enter the interior of the unit
during cleaning (Fig. 7).
on the outside unit, the area around the air
outlet grille is to be checked on a regular
basis and cleaned if necessary, in order to
guarantee an unimpeded air flow (Fig. 8).

6.2 Cleaning the air filter

If the air filter is dirty, the air flow will be
obstructed and the degree of efficiency
reduced.
To access to the filter, open the front of
the unit and take the filter out as shown in
Fig. 9. The filter can be cleaned with a
vacuum cleaner or luke-warm water (Fig.
10). After drying the filter, replace it in the
unit.

7 General remarks

The following points may arise during the
operation of the air-conditioning system,
but do not constitute faults:
Compressor switches on:
- If the system is switched off and then
immediately switched on again, it will
take 3 minutes before the compressor
runs up to full operation again. This
delay prevents excess current
consumption by the compressor. The
operating mode Q lights up.
- In order to prevent the heat-exchanger
from freezing up in cooling operation at
low outside temperatures, the
compressor will briefly be taken out of
operation. The compressor will start
running again automatically. The
operating display Q will light up.
Noise:
- It is possible that, when the system is
switched on, or immediately after it has
been switched off, there will be a slight
whistling noise in the unit. This means
that the coolant in the system is
beginning to circulate or the pressure in
the cooling circuit is stabilising.
Adjusting the air volume:
- In heating mode, the unit is subject to
defrosting cycles, in order to thaw out
the ice which forms on the heat
exchanger of the outside unit at certain
temperatures. During this phase, the air
volume in the internal unit will be
automatically reduced, and cannot be
changed until the defrosting cycle has
ended. The LED Q will light up.
- At the start of heating operation, the air
volume on the internal unit will be
adjusted automatically. This will
guarantee that only hot air will be
conducted into the room.
The LED Q will light up.
Smells:
- Because the room air is being passed
through the unit, it may happen that
smells in the room, such as may be
caused by heavy smoking, might reside in
the unit. The emerging air may be
burdened with such smells as a result.
Mist:
- During cooling operations, it is possible
that a small cloud of vapour might form
in front of the air outlet. The cause is a
reciprocal effect of the relatively cold
emerging air with the relatively warm
room air.
Power failure:
- After a power failure, the system will
automatically start working again. If the
system was in Timer mode at the time
of the power failure, the yellow LED P
will flash on the internal unit.

8. Trouble-shooting

If a fault occurs during operation, the
following points should be checked:
If the air-conditioning system is not
working:
- Check that the power supply is on.
- Check whether the main fuse has blown.
- Check whether the main switch has
been turned off.
- Check whether the compressor is
operating with a 3-minute delay
- The temperature selected may be lower
than the room temperature in heating
operation mode, and higher than the
room temperature in cooling operation
mode (the thermostat is not allowing
the system to operate).
The performance output of the air-
conditioning system is too low:
- The air in the internal or outside unit
cannot circulate freely.
- The air filters are dirty and are reducing
the air volume.
- The door or windows are open.
- The thermostat is not correctly adjusted.
Operating mode display N is flashing on the
internal unit:
The system has a fault. Before you contact
a qualified engineer to repair the system,
the following points should be checked:
- The air filters on the internal unit are
dirty.
- The air circulation in the internal unit is
being obstructed.
- The heat exchanger in the outside unit
is dirty.
