1. System components
The air-conditioning system consists of the
following components (Fig. 1):
A. Outside unit

1.1 Preparation of infrared
remote control (RC)
To insert the batteries into the remote
control unit, the cover over the lower
buttons should be opened (see Fig. 2) and
removed. The cover can be drawn off by
pressing the plastic spring on the rear of
the remote control.
When inserting the batteries, check that
polarity is correct, and then replace the
cover.
The remote control will not function with
rechargeable batteries of type IEC LR 03/
1.5 Volt.
If the batteries start to run out, the range
of the remote control will also be reduced.

1.2 Reception confirmation on
internal unit
The remote control can be used up to a
range of 6 m (clear space). By actuating a
button on the remote control, a signal will
be issued to the control unit in the internal
unit. Receipt of this signal is confirmed by
an audible "beep" sound. If this sound
does not occur, the function shown on the
display does not correspond to the
function of the internal unit, and it will then
be necessary to repeat the signal by
actuating one of the buttons E, F, K, or J
(Fig. 4).
