Cable gland
The standard luminaire is always equipped with 3 M25 x 1.5 bores, 1 cable gland and 
2 stopping plugs.
For entering the cables and electric lines, specially certified cable glands (according to
Directive 94/9/EC or IECEx CoC) - risk of mechanical hazard "high" - in compliance with
rating plate information (type of protection, IP degree of protection, cable diameter, 
tightening torque, max. admissible temperatures or other conditions of use) or pipeline
systems (conduits) of R. Stahl are used.
Unused entry openings are closed by means of stopping plugs in a form-locking or 
force-locking manner and guarantee at least the level of protection IP64 (see type label).
For cable glands of R. STAHL Schaltgeräte GmbH Type 8161, observe the operating 
instructions of these cable glands.
Tightening torques R.STAHL Schaltgräte GmbH Type 8161:
Cable glands M20 x 1.5 connection thread 2.3 Nm pressure screw 1.5 Nm
Cable glands M25 x 1.5 connection thread 3.0 Nm pressure screw 2.0 Nm
Make sure that cable glands and stopping plugs provided by the user are certified to 
Directive 94/9/EC (ATEX) or IECEx (CoC) and the associated operating instructions are
observed.
Note:
 Cable glands and stopping plug can be interchanged.
Compare the clamping range of the cable glands with the diameter of the cable to 

be entered.
 Firmly tighten the pressure screw of the cable gland.

Seal all unused openings with certified stopping plugs.

The metal cable gland must be connected to the internal protective conductor system
(PE terminal) via a metal adapter plate or metal adaptor to avoid potential differences.
IP degree of protection is part of the explosion protection measure!
In case of external mounting, we recommend the use of a breather of R. STAHL 
Schaltgeräte GmbH, Type 8162. It can be used instead of a stopping plug (M 25 x 1.5).
The breather can be mounted at any cable gland opening and complies with the degree
of protection IP64. The minimum ambient temperature for the use of the 
breather is -20 °C.
