Is the workplace free of risks to stumble? Keep your workplace in
an orderly condition! Untidiness can result in accidents: Risk of
stumbling.
Take environmental influences into consideration:
Do not work under insufficient light conditions (e.g. fog, rain,
snow flurry or twilight).
Do not use this machine near inflammable liquids or gases.
The operator is responsible for accidents or risks which occur to
other persons or their properties.
Safety instructions – operating
Never work with only one hand. Hold the device always firmly
with both hands.
Never work
with stretched arms
on hardly accessible places
Keep the safety distance that is provided by the handles.
While the engine is running do not lift and carry the machine.
To have a break stop the machine and place it so that nobody is at
risk. Secure the device against unauthorized access.
Safety instructions – while working
Never work alone. Keep acoustic and visual contact to other
persons at all times to allow immediate first aid in emergency
cases.
Immediately stop the engine at imminent danger or in emergency
cases.
Never leave the device running unattended.
This device chain saw produces harmful
substances. Never start the product in closed rooms
or poorly ventilated areas risk of carbon monoxide
poisoning. Provide for a sufficient change of air when working in
wells, trenches or confined spaces. There is the risk of carbon
monoxide poisoning or death by suffocation.
Immediately stop working when you feel unwell (e.g. head-ache,
dizziness, nausea, etc.). Otherwise there is an in-creased risk of
accidents.
Do not overload the machine! You work better and safer in the
given performance range.
Take breaks when working so that the engine can cool down.
Do not place a hot machine in dry grass or onto inflammable
objects.
Never touch the silencer and the engine while the machine is
running or shortly after it was stopped. Dan-ger of burning!

General safety instructions

Maintain the machine carefully:
Follow the maintenance instructions.
Keep handles dry and free of oil, resin and grease.
Check the machine for possible damage:
 Before further use of the machine the safety devices must be
checked carefully for their proper and intended function. Only
operate the device with complete and correctly attached safety
equipment and do not alter anything on the device that could
impair its safety.
 Check whether movable parts function perfectly and do not stick
or whether parts are damaged. All parts must be correctly
installed and fulfil all conditions to ensure perfect operation of the
machine.
 Damaged safety devices and parts must be properly repaired or
exchanged by a recognized, specialist workshop; insofar as
nothing else is stated in the instructions for use.
 Damaged or illegible safety labels have to be replaced.
Do not allow any tool key to be plugged in!
Before switching on, check always that all tools are removed.
Store unused equipment in a dry, locked place out of reach of
children.
Stop the machine and remove the spark plug connector when
 Carrying out repair work.
 Performing maintenance and cleaning work.
 Eliminating faults.
 Transporting or storage
 Leaving the machine (also for short interruptions)
Do not carry out repair operations on the machine other
than those described in the section "Maintenance" but
contact the manufacturer or authorized customer service
centres.
Repairs to other parts of the machine must be carried out by
the manufacturer or one of his customer service points.
Use only original spare parts, accessories and special
accessory parts. Accidents can arise for the user through
the use of other spare parts. The manufacturer is not liable
for any damage or injury resulting from such action.

Always wear sturdy shoes (safety shoes) and long
trousers when working. Do not operate the machine
barefooted or with light sandales.
Before starting your work make sure that there are no children and
animals close to you.
Keep hands, fingers and feet away from the base plate to avoid
injuries.
Always make sure during work that you are positioned behind the
machine; never walk next to the machine or stand in front of it when
the motor is running.
Do not place any tools or other objects on the vibratory plate.
If you come across foreign objects, stop the device, disconnect the
spark plug connector and remove those foreign objects. However,
before you restart the device, check it for possible damages and
have it repaired if necessary.
Do not overload the machine's capacity by trying to compact with a
single pass too deep or too fast.
Never operate the device at high speeds on hard or slippery
surfaces.
Stay away from the edges of ditches and avoid actions that may
cause the vibratory plate to tip over.
Be careful when working on gravel or when crossing gravel-covered
uphill drives, lanes or roads. Always be on the alert for hidden
dangers or traffic. Do not take any passengers along.
Always climb slopes carefully, in a direct path and in the opposite
direction to prevent the vibratory plate from toppling over on the
operator.
Use the machine, accessories, tools etc. in compliance with these
instructions. When doing so take the work conditions and the
activity to be carried out into account. The use of the machine for
other than the intended applications may cause dangerous
situations.
