With LGB Multi-Train System:
- up to 23 loco addresses
- up to 128 switch addresses
- 14 speed steps
- up to 8 throttles
- up to 5 amp output
- additional LGB 55090 MTS Power
Extenders can be used to power
separate track sections with 5

- can be used with wireless control
(LGB 55050/55051 and LGB

features:
- up to 10239 loco addresses
- up to 2048 switch addresses
- 28 speed steps loco images, loco
names and much more
What is the Multi-Train System?
With conventional analog operation,
the loco's motor is powered directly
via the tracks. When you turn the
throttle knob, the track voltage
increases and the loco moves for-
11
ward or backwards, faster or slower.
If you turn off the track power, the
train stops.
11
If there are two locos on the tracks,
both start moving at the same time
and in the same direction. To operate
13
several locos independently at the
same time on an analog layout, the
14
layout must be divided into separate-
ly powered track blocks. Each block
15
is equipped with a separate power
supply, allowing your trains to oper-
ate independently of each other.
15
With digital operation and the LGB
Multi-Train System, the situation is
entirely different. The tracks always
15
carry the maximum voltage. All loco
and switch commands are relayed
16
via the tracks. A decoder is installed
in the locos. It controls the motor
and other functions of the loco, for
example, lights, sounds, etc. (Locos
with decoders can operate on tradi-
tional analog layouts without modifi-
cations.)
Because each loco is controlled indi-
vidually, each player can operate
their own loco. This opens entirely
new possibilities when playing with
trains.
Components of the Multi-Train

System

The Multi-Train System consists of
four basic components:
1. Input devices
These input devices not only allow
you to control your locomotives, but
also switches, signals and other
functions. The most important input
devices are:
- LGB 55016 Loco Remote. This
remote is designed for convenient
operation of your locomotives.
