Remote, Universal Remote, etc.) to
the square phone-style sockets
marked "LGB-Bus" on the Central
Station (Fig. 3).
Hint: Do not use more than 8 input
devices to control your locos. In
addition, you can use up to 7 input
devices (Universal Remotes) to con-
trol switches and other functions.
3. Connect your LGB power supply
to the Central Station. Connect the
white/black terminals on the
Central Station (marked "Trafo") to
an LGB power supply (AC or DC
output). The polarity does not
matter. If you use a power pack
with built-in throttle, set the throt-
tle to the highest speed setting.
Plug your transformer into a
house current outlet
Attention! For safety and reliability,
operate the Multi-Train System with
LGB power supplies (transformers or
power packs) only. The use of non-
LGB power supplies will void your
warranty.
For use with the LGB Multi-Train
System, we recommend the LGB
50110/50111 AC Transformer, 5
amp. For more information on LGB
power supplies for indoor, outdoor
and multi-train operation, see the
LGB catalog.
4. Place a decoder-equipped loco on
the tracks. Now you can start
operating your trains with the LGB
Multi-Train System.
Hints:
- If you use an LGB power pack (DC)
and the loco does not run, reverse
the direction of the throttle or
reverse the polarity of the wiring
between transformer and Central
Station.
- You can use any LGB transformer
or power pack (with AC or DC out-
put). The track current is limited
electronically to 5 amps. If your
transformer supplies less than 5
amps, the output of your trans-
former limits your track current.
- For large layouts with many loco-
motives, you can use one or sever-
al
LGB
55090
Extenders to power additional track
sections with 5 amps each. The
MTS Power Extender transmits the
commands from the Central Station
to all track sections. (To prevent the
loss of data at the LGB Bus, you
should use no more than four LGB
55090 MTS Power Extenders on
your layout. If necessary, you can
connect several track sections to
the same Power Extender.)
- If you use the LGB 50100/50101
JUMBO power pack, set the start-
ing delay to "0."
- When converting an existing analog
layout, all diodes installed in the
tracks (reversing loops, unidirec-
tional signal circuits) must be
removed. For reversing loops on
Multi-Train System layouts, we rec-
ommend the LGB 55080 MTS
Reversing Loop Module.
WARNING!
Do not connect the LGB Multi-Train
System and a conventional analog
power supply to the same layout. Do
not connect more than one Central
Station to the same layout. Do not
use a powered catenary system
together with the LGB Multi-Train
System on the same layout. Extreme
voltage peaks can occur: Electric
shock hazard!
