- LGB 55015 Universal Remote. In
addition to controlling locos, the
Universal Remote also can set
switches and switch routes, as well
as control two locos that are dou-
ble-heading a train. Furthermore,
you can use the Universal Remote
to program advanced decoder
functions.
2. LGB 55006 Central Station
The Central Station is the electronic
"brain" of your layout. It converts
your input commands into decoder
commands and transmits them to
the tracks.
3. Decoders
Decoders "decode" the commands
from the Central Station and control
locos and accessories accordingly.
The LGB program includes numer-
ous decoders for various applica-
tions, including:
Loco Decoders
- LGB 55021 MTS Loco Decoder II
for installation in most older LGB
locomotives.
- LGB 55022 MTS Small Loco
Decoder for installation in smaller
LGB locomotives, where space lim-
itations do not allow installing a
larger decoder.
- LGB 55027 MTS Decoder III for
installation in newer LGB locomo-
tives with "DCC interfaces."
Check your loco's instructions for
information on decoder installation.
Many newer LGB locomotives are
equipped
with
"onboard" decoders. These locomo-
tives can be used without modifica-
tions with the LGB Multi-Train
System.
Analog Control with a conventional
analog locomotive (without decoder)
You can operate one conventional
loco (without decoder) with the
Multi-Train System. Simply place the
12
factory-installed
conventional loco on the tracks. This
loco automatically is assigned loco
address "0."
Attention! Different from decoder-
equipped locomotives, the direction
of conventional locomotives depends
on the direction in which the loco is
placed on the track. Test the opera-
tion of conventional locos before
starting operations!
Hint: The conventional loco (without
decoder) will make a buzzing noise,
especially when stopped. This is
caused by the digital signal transmit-
ted through the tracks to the loco.
This will not harm the conventional
LGB locomotive.
Switch Decoders
- LGB 55024 MTS Switch Decoder,
Single Channel, for operating one
EPL drive (switch, signal, electric
uncoupler)
- LGB 55025 MTS Switch Decoder
for controlling up to four switches
or other accessories with numer-
ous advanced functions
4. Transformer
The transformer provides power for
your layout. The following trans-
formers were designed specifically
for the LGB Multi-Train System:
- LGB 50110 AC Transformer, 5 amp,
18 volt, 230 volt
- LGB 50111 AC Transformer, 5 amp,
18 volt, 120 volt

Setting up the Multi-Train System
