s IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Please read this user manual and the safety precautions thoroughly before
using your Solis Rice Cooker Duo Program in order to become familiar with

you also hand these instructions to the new owner.
For your own safety, please consider the following safety measures when

using electric appliances:
1. To avoid electric shock, neither the appliance nor the power cord and power
plug resp. connection adapter must come into contact with water or other
liquids. Water might get into the casing and damage the appliance! Should the
appliance, the power cord or power plug resp. connection adapter come into
contact with liquid, use dry rubber gloves to immediately pull the power plug
from the socket.
2. Before use, check if the voltage stated on the appliance matches your mains
voltage.
3. Always plug the connection adapter into the appliance jack before connecting
the power plug to a socket and only then switch on the appliance. The appli-
ance jack and the connection adapter both have to be absolutely dry before you
connect them. Never touch the power plug with wet or moist hands.
4. Only operate the rice cooker/steamer on a solid, dry and heat resistant surface.
Do not operate beneath hanging cupboards, shelves or other steam sensitive
materials.
5. Do not let the power cord hang over table edges to prevent it from being pulled
down. Ensure that it does not come into contact with hot surfaces like hotplates
or a radiator resp. with the appliance itself. Always fully unwind the power cord
before plugging in the appliance.
6. Keep appliance away from hot gas, hot ovens or other heat emitting appliances
or heat sources. Never use the appliance on a wet or hot surface. Do not place
appliance near moisture, heat and open flames. Keep appliance away from
moving parts or appliances.
7. Never pull or carry the appliance by its power cord and do not place anything
on the cord.
8. We recommend not using an extension cord. Do not place the appliance directly
beneath a power outlet.
9. Always pull the plug when the appliance is out of use, unsupervised or before
cleaning. We recommend using a residual current device (RCD-safety switch) to

provide additional protection when operating electrical devices. It is advisable
that a circuit breaker with a leakage current not exceeding 30 mA is used. Your
electrician can provide you with professional advice.
10. Do not make any changes to the appliance, the cord, the plug or the accessory
parts.
11. Inappropriate handling might cause injury!
12. Caution: The temperatures of appliance parts and surfaces are very high during
cooking process and even some time afterwards.
13. Never reach out for an appliance that has fallen into water. Always pull the plug
before removing the appliance from the water. Do not operate it again before
having it checked for functionality and safety by Solis or an authorised Solis
service centre.
14. Never place the appliance so that it might fall into water (e.g. next to a sink).
15. Do not place the appliance in direct sunlight.
16. Never insert sharp or pointed objects and tools into the appliance openings. The
appliance might be damaged resp. risk of electric shock!
17. Do not shake or move the appliance while it is in use.
18. Only use the appliance as described in this manual. Only use provided accessory
parts, wrong accessory parts might cause damage to the appliance.
19. The appliance is only suited to household use, not to commercial use.
20. The appliance is not suited to outdoor use. Do not use in vehicles or on boats.
21. Check the appliance before each use and ensure that the appliance, power cord
and plug are not damaged and no parts have come loose.
22. In order to avoid electric shock, do not use the appliance if the cable or plug are
damaged or the appliance is otherwise faulty, dropped or damaged in any other
way or if parts have come loose. Never attempt repairs yourself, but take your
appliance to Solis or a Solis approved service centre in order to get it inspected
or mechanically and electrically repaired, in order to avoid a hazard.
23. People with limited physical, sensorial or mental capabilities (incl. children) or
unaware or inexperienced people must not use the rice cooker, except when
supervised or thoroughly instructed on how to use the appliance by a person
