1. Introduction
Nivotester FTC 4xx limit switches can be used in conjunction with
capacitive probes for level detection in liquids and solids. This
manual describes the:
• Nivotester FTC 422: with adjustable switching differential
for two-point control.
Nivotester FTC 422 capacitive limit switches can be used for a
variety of purposes in areas not subject to explosion risk, e.g., for
overspill protection, pump protection and level monitoring - see
also Technical Information TI 127.

Measuring system

A typical measuring system, see Fig. 1, comprises:
• the Nivotester FTC 422,
• the EC 61 Z electronic insert for installation in the probe head
and
• one or two probes, suitable for the medium to be measured
A variety of probes are available for use with the Nivotester limit
switches. Endress+Hauser will be pleased to advise you on
special applications.
