Safety Instructions

3.1

General Safety Instructions

− Use the product only for its intended purpose
[see Chapter "3.3 Intended Use and Foreseeable Misuse", page 7].
− During operation of the product, do not permit any work method that
hinders the safety of the device.
− Always keep the working area of the product clean and orderly, in order
to avoid danger from dirt or scattered parts.
− All work on the product may only be carried out by trained personnel.

Informal Safety Measures

− In addition to the user manual, follow all general and local regulations for
accident prevention and environmental protection.
3.3

Intended Use and Foreseeable Misuse

The Sartocon
®
cassettes are designed to be ready-to-use, disposable products.
For filtering, a filter holder (clamping element) is required, for example, the
Sartocon Slice SU filter holder or the Sartoflow
®
Flexact UD system.
®
Observe the following instructions:
− This operating manual was developed according to regulations and legal
guidelines currently available at the time. It has been drafted, so that it
can be implemented and used by appropriately trained personnel.
Activities that go beyond the scope of that which is described here, are
to be carried out by Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH service personnel
exclusively.
− Laboratory managers or persons responsible for equipment deployment
are required to instruct their personnel about the hazards that can arise
during the installation and operation of the Sartocon
Contained and Sartocube
with the relevant safety rules and regulations. The personnel must
possess the required qualifications for the area of application and
handling of the cassette.
− Strictly follow and observe the installation and operating instructions.
That way you can avoid improper handling and maintain all guarantee
claims in full. Please contact us if you have any questions.
− If these safety instructions are not followed, this can cause damage to
the cassette or to other equipment and material or lead to personal
injury.
− Every time before using the equipment, check that all components are in
perfect working order.
