2. Safety Instructions

2.1 General Safety Instructions

− Use the device only for its intended purpose [Æ Chapter „2.3 Intended Use and
Foreseeable Misuse", page 6].
− During operation of the device, do not permit any work method that hinders
the safety of the device.
− Always keep the working area of the device clean and orderly, in order to avoid
danger from dirt or scattered parts.
− All work on the device may only be carried out by trained personnel.

2.2 Informal Safety Measures

− Always keep the installation instructions in the location where the device is in use.
− In addition to the installation instructions, follow all general and local regulations
for accident prevention and environmental protection.

2.3 Intended Use and Foreseeable Misuse

The Sartocon ® Slice 200 Filter Holder is only intended for use in crossflow filtration
units in combination with:
− Sartocon Slice 200 crossflow cassettes (0.02 m
®
− Sartocon ® ECO ultrafilter cassettes (0.14 m²).
Any other use beyond this is considered improper use. Observe the information in
Chapter [Æ „7. Technical Data", page 13].
Danger due to use of unsuitable accessories!
Only operate the device with original accessories or replacement parts.
If you make unauthorized modifications to the device, the performance and
operating safety of the system are no longer guaranteed.
This can also endanger the safety of the operator.
Only use materials specified by the manufacturer (e.g. cleaning agents, hoses).

2.4 Danger due to improper handling

Danger of injury due to improper handling!
Before assembling or cleaning the filter holder, always read the operating
instructions for the cassettes!
Improper handling of the cassettes can lead to severe injuries or destruction of the
cassette itself.
When tensioning the filter cassettes, use only the torque wrench specially
provided for this purpose!
− If the torque is too low, the clamping element seal will be lost.
− If the torque is too high, the filter cassette will be destroyed.
