Teaching with IO-Link

The teach-in sequences are explained using
SP1. The same sequence applies for SP2 using
the corresponding commands.
Teaching in Single Point Mode
1. Position the object in the detection range of the sensor
at the switching distance for Set Point SP1.
2. Use the system command SP1 Single Value Teach to
teach the desired point.

Using the Out of range process data bit, the
sensor indicates whether the object is outside
the area allowed for teaching. If the object is too
close or too far, the teach procedure is blocked.
3. Use the Teach-in-Status parameter to check the
response.

Using the process data bits Teach active/
successful/error is another way to see the teach
status.
⇒ With SP1 SUCCESS, the on- and off-switching
points were successfully taught in Single Point
Mode.
