Adjusting the clearing height (15, 16, 17)

CAUTION! Risk of injury. Risk of cuts
when reaching into the running transport auger.
Adjust the clearing height only with the en-
gine switched off and the transport auger at
standstill.
Adjust the clearing height so that no gravel or
other foreign matter can be picked up. Give con-
sideration to very uneven ground, for example
tyre tracks, and to manhole covers or paving
stones.
1. Park the appliance on level ground for adjust-
ment.
2. Loosen the clamping screws of the skids on
left and right (15/1, 16/1).
3. Raise the clearing plate (15/2) to the desired
height (15/a) and tighten the skids again.
4. Ensure that both skids are at the same height
(15/b) so that the clearing plate runs parallel
to the ground.
NOTE When the skids are worn (wear
edge (17/1) worn through), turn the skids by 180°
(17/a) and use the second side.

Checking the shear pins on the
appliance (18, 34)
IMPORTANT! Danger of damage to the
appliance. A frozen auger gearbox can result in
damage to the V-belt.
Check whether the auger gearbox is frozen
before starting the engine.
Park the snow blower in a suitable place to
allow the auger gearbox to thaw, if neces-
sary.
1. Before every start, check that the six shear
pins (18/1, 34/2) are undamaged.
Replace broken shear pins with OEM
spare parts. Use of non-approved spare
parts can result in serious damage to the
appliance!
Two spare shear pins (01/4) can be
found on the operating panel.
2. Inspect all operating elements, safety devic-
es, nuts, bolts and studs of the appliance for
completeness, tightness and sound condi-
tion.

Starting the engine (19 – 24)
DANGER! Risk of poisoning. The engine
exhaust gases contain carbon monoxide that can
kill a person within a few minutes.
Operate the engine only outdoors, never in a
closed room.
Do not inhale the engine exhaust gases.
Switch off the engine if you feel nauseous,
dizzy or weak during use. Immediately con-
sult a doctor.
IMPORTANT! Danger of damage to the
appliance. A frozen auger gearbox can result in
damage to the V-belt.
Check whether the auger gearbox is frozen
before starting the engine.
Park the snow blower in a suitable place to
allow the auger gearbox to thaw, if neces-
sary.
Starting process (19, 20, 21, 22)
1. Check the oil and fuel level.
2. Open fuel cock (19/1) (19/a).
3. Check that travel drive and auger drive are
disengaged. Both clutch levers must be in the
upright position.
4. Move choke (19/2) to the "CLOSED" position
(19/b).
5. Press primer button (20/1) 3x at intervals of
approx. 2 seconds. At temperatures below
10°C, press the primer button 5x.
6. Move throttle lever (21/1) to the "Fast" posi-
tion (21/a).
7. Insert engine key (22/1).
Manual start (23)
1. Pull the starter cable out slightly until the first
resistance is felt, then pull out briskly and al-
low it to wind back in slowly (23/a).
