Changing the high and low beam bulbs

Before replacing a burnt-out bulb, check that the new one
complies with voltage and wattage as specified in the
"Electrical System" paragraph on page 88. Always check
that the new bulb works before refitting removed parts.
Figure 66 shows the position of the low beam (LO),
high beam (HI) and parking light (1) bulbs.

Important
In the USA version, the position of the high and low
beam bulbs is reversed.
Headlamp
To access the upper bulb, remove the instrument panel (2)
from the retaining rubber elements (see page 57).
Rotate the locking ring nut (3) on the upper bulb body anti-
clockwise and take out the burnt-out bulb. Replace with a
bulb of equal rating.
When refitting, rotate the locking ring nut (3) clockwise to
lock the bulb in place.
To access the lower bulb, remove the headlamp fairing
as described in paragraph "Removing the fairings" on
page 55 and unscrew the screws (5) to release the bottom
cover (4) from the headlamp support. The upper bulb is
replaced in the same way.
