Charging the battery (fig. 61)
Before charging the battery, it is best to remove it from the
motorcycle.
Remove right-side panel (page 55), loosen the screw (1)
and remove the upper bracket. Always disconnect the black
negative terminal (-) first, then the red positive terminal (+).

Warning
The battery produces explosive gases: keep it away
from heat sources and flames.
Charge the battery in a ventilated room.
Connect the battery charger leads to the battery terminals:
red to positive terminal (+), black to negative terminal (-).
Important
Connect the battery to the charger before switching
on: failure to do so can result in sparking at the battery
terminals, which could ignite the gases inside the cells.
Always connect the red positive terminal (+) first.
Replace the battery in its holder and secure the upper
bracket with the screw (1), then connect the terminals.
Apply some grease on the fastening screws to improve
the conductivity.

Warning
Keep the battery out of the reach of children.
Charge the battery at 0.9 A for 5-10 hours.
