Replacing the operator
For information on operator
assembly refer to the assembly
instructions included separately.
The following tools are required for
replacing the operator :

13.2.1 Disassembling the operator
1. Depressurize and drain the plant or plant
component.
2. Pneumatic operator: Depressurize
control medium.
3. Pneumatic operator: Remove the control
medium line(s) from the operator.
4. Motorized operator: Disconnect the
operator from the power supply.
5. Motorized operator: Disconnect the
electrical connections according to the
enclosed instructions.
6. Loosen bolts 2 and remove them with
lock washer(s) / spring washer(s) 3.
7. Pull up the operator .
® The operator is now disassembled.

23-25 Nm
48-52 Nm
82-86 Nm
132-138 Nm
200-210 Nm

13.2.2 Assembling the operator
1. Check the position of the butterfl y disc
indicated by groove a in the shaft top,
rotate butterfl y disc to correct position if
necessary.
Groove a transverse to
piping direction: Butterfl y
valve closed.
Groove a in piping direction:
Butterfl y valve open.
2. Manual, pneumatic and motorized
operator : Put the square or single
keyway of the butterfl y valve into the
operator shaft.
3. Take care to align the positions of disc
and optical position indicator of the
operator !
4. Tighten the operator with lock
washer(s) / spring washer(s) 3 and
bolt(s) 2.

operator "
® The operator is assembled.
5. Commissioning according to chapter 11
"Commissioning".
