5.2 Electrical connections
5.2.1
Connection of the protective-earth conductor
Note:
Use the special material in the accessories supplied.
The X-ray tube housing assembly must be earthed with a separately routed protec-
tive-earth (PE) conductor cable of at least 4 mm

Connect the PE conductor to the central earthing point of the X-ray tube housing

assembly. Use the ring terminal in the accessories supplied.

Establish connection between the central earthing point of the X-ray tube housing
assembly and the cover cap of the X-ray tube housing.
5.2.2
Connection of the high voltage cables
WARNING
Discharge the H.V. cables after having pulled them out.
They act like a capacitor.
Note:
Use old plug receptacles R3 only in combination with adapter O3/R3,
type No. 9806-420-4000x.
In such case the maximum length of each high voltage cable is 20 m.
For cine operation special restrictions are applicable.

bles are slotted and the two legs of the pins
must have specified distance with respect to
each other. If this specified distance is
changed, i.e. if it is reduced, the legs of the
pins do not longer touch the inner surface of
the contact jacks such that contact is en-
sured. In this case, minor voltage sparkover
may occur which burns or impairs the con-
tact surface.
It might happen during installation work or
an exchange of the X-ray tube housing as-
sembly that the connector is exposed to too
much mechanical stress and that the legs of
the contact are pressed together.

In this case readjust gap of splint pins.
Use pin gage tool,
type No. 9890-000-0284x.
