be seen in the formation of bubbles. The popping of the gas bubbles causes acid splashes in the vicinity of the battery. Always observe
the notes regarding the connection of the device otherwise sparks may be generated that will cause the gases (detonating gases) to
explode. The device may also not be operated in the vicinity of naked flames. When handling the battery, do not smoke!
Always ensure good ventilation since the gas is capable of exploding.
2.2 Preparing the battery
Please note: Only charge traditional 12 or 24 Volt lead-acid batteries. Do
not charge batteries that are not rechargeable. This device is not suitable
for rechargeable batteries with a capacity in excess of 300Ah. Use a more
powerful charger from our range instead. Only charge intact batteries.
The charging time depends on the charge state of the battery. This can be
determined by measuring the density of the acid with a ordinary acid
siphon. If you have a permanently closed, maintenance-free battery, this
may not be opened. With this battery type, it is not possible nor necessary
to check or correct the acid level. In order to charge the battery, first, if
possible, remove all caps from the battery cells, see diagram.
Now check the level of acid in the battery cells. The acid level should still
be approximately 0.5- 1 cm above the lead plates in the battery cells even
when the battery is discharged. If not, distilled water must be refilled. Tap
water may never be used. As the charge state increases, the level of the acid will rise. To ensure that the battery does not overflow,
the acid may not be filled to the maximum mark at the start of the charging process. The caps may only be replaced at the end of
the charging process. This is the only way to ensure that the gases generated during charging are able to escape. The escape of small
quantities of gas in the form of splashes during charging is unavoidable.
2.3 Charging

2.3.1 Charging the battery in dismantled state

Make sure that the mains switch on the device is set to OFF (see
diagram) and the mains plug of the charger is not connected to the
socket. The power supply must be interrupted. Connect the loose cable
(cable with the red clamp) to the charger in accordance with the volta-
ge of the battery to be charged by the charger. To do this, either remo-
ve the cap from the 12 or 24 Volt connection and slide the cable shoe
ring over the connection. Now screw the cap back into place. Connect
the red clamp plus cable to the plus pole (marked "+"" or "P") of the
battery. Connect the black minus cable to the minus
pole (marked „-" or "N") of the battery. Set the Char-
ge/Start switch to the battery icon to start charging.
Switch the boost function of the device on to quickly
charge the battery or use the minimal (MIN) char-
ging current to charge the battery more gently, see
diagram. Only at the end of the set-up process do
you plug the mains plug of the charger into the 230V
mains socket and set the main power switch of the
device to ON. The device is now switched on and operating.
