• In the event that the machine is equipped with a laser,
no other kind of laser may be used. Repairs may only be
carried out by the laser manufacturer or an authorized
representative.
• Do not remove scraps or waste wood from the area of
sawing as long as the machine is running.
• Never stand on the machine. This could lead to serious
injuries should it tip or a person come in contact with
the saw blade.
Keep hands away from blade: failure to keep
your hands away from the blade will result in
serious personal injury.
Use work gloves.
Use protective masks and glasses.
Use ear and hearing protection.
Environmental Protection
Send those materials that are no longer needed to recy-
cling. All tools, tubing, and packaging should be sorted
and disposed of according to responsible environmental
policy in the local recycling centre.

Appropriate Use

The machine is produced according to the relevant European
Union machine guidelines
• The machine is constructed solely to be used with the
given tools and accessories for the processing of wood.
• The machine is constructed for single shift use. The
length of operation is six hours to 40%.
• All safety and hazard instructions on the machine are to
be followed.
• All safety and hazard instructions on the machine are to
be kept in a legible condition.
• When the machine is used in a closed room it must be
connected to a dust collection unit.
• A dust collecting unit is to be used to collect sawdust or
wood chips. The intake flow of the collecting unit must
be 20 m/s. Negative pressure 1200 Pa.
• For work in a commercial setting a dust minimiser must
be used.
• Dust collecting units or dust minimizing units should not
be turned off or removed when the machine is running.
• Use this machine only when it is in a technically perfect
condition as well as according to all relevant regulations
of appropriate use, safety and injury awareness, as well
as following all instructions for use. In particular, those
difficulties which influence the safe operation of the ma-
chine must be immediately dealt with!
• The manufacturer's safety, work and maintenance guide-
lines as well as the technical data regarding measure-
ments must be adhered to.
• The appropriate measures for avoiding accidents and
other generally recognized safety rules must also be ad-
hered to.
• The machine may only be used, maintained or repaired
by experienced persons who understand the machine and
are informed about the hazards. Independent changes in
the machine void the manufacturer's guarantee and ex-
clude the manufacturer from damage which results.
• The machine may only be used with original parts and
original tools from the manufacturer.
• Any use above and beyond this is not appropriate to the
machine. The manufacturer does not take any responsi-
bility for damage resulting there from; any and all risks
are borne by the operator.
m Residual Risks
The machine is built according to the current technical stand-
ards and the recognized safety technical rules. Still several
residual risks remain which can result when the machine is
operated.
• Danger of injury to fingers and hands due to the rotating
planing device should materials be introduced into the
machine in an inexpert manner.
• Danger due to materials which are thrown off of the ma-
chine due to inexpert fastening or introduction into the
machine, as well as work without a protective guard.
• Health hazards due to sawdust or wood shavings.
• Personal protective gear such as goggles or a dust mask
must be worn. Use a dust collecting unit.
• Health hazards due to noise. When the machine is in
operation the noise exceeds the permitted noise levels.
Personal protection devices such as hearing protection
should be worn.
• Danger due to electrical current should a non-regulation
electrical connection be used.
• The machine should be used only on selected wood,
without defects such as knots, lateral cracks, surface
cracks. Defective wood becomes a risk factor in machine
use.
• For this reason, in spite of having attended to all protec-
tive measures there may be residual risks which are not
evident.
• Residual risks can be minimized when the safety in-
structions and appropriate use as well as the operating
instructions are followed.
Transportation
When the mitre box saw is to be transported, the saw head
must always be affixed in the lowest position;
• Use the saw catch (3) to push the saw head (1) down.
• By pushing the safety catch (2), you will lock the saw
head (fig. 3).
NOTE: The mitre saw is heavy and is recommended to be
transported with the help of 2 people, to safely move it.
Blocking the Saw Head (fig. 3)
Warning: In order to avoid injury and damage to the saw,
transportation and storage of the mitre box saw should oc-
cur only when the saw head is in the position as far down
as it will go. Never use the chock dowel to hold the saw
head in the lowest position when sawing.
