MAIN ANALOG OUT
The DVD video player's analogue output supplies a fixed-
level output signal. It is designed for connection to the
PT 820 M.
The output sockets should be connected to the CD / DVD
input sockets of the PT 820 M / PT 800 M which bear the
same code letter (L / R), i.e.
'ANALOG OUTPUT L'
'ANALOG OUTPUT R'
DIG OUT (Stereo)
Co-axial digital output for connecting an external digital /
analogue converter or digital amplifier. It is important to
use nothing but 75 Ohm cable with Cinch connectors for
this link.
Note:
Only stereo signals are present at this output, not
surround signals (Dolby Digital, dts, etc.).

RGB / YPbPr (YUV) – output *
The DVD 820 M features a high-quality component video
output which can be switched between RGB and YUV
(see 'Video setup menu').
High-quality projectors which feature the appropriate
inputs can be connected to this output directly. This set-
up allows the best possible quality and resolution of the
video material on DVDs to be exploited.
CVBS - output
The CVBS output can be connected directly to a TV set if
the DVD 820 M is operated without the surround decoder
DD 820 M.
The CVBS output also acts as the sync signal with some
projectors.
Note:
The YUV / RGB component video output is designed
exclusively for playing back DVDs at best possible
quality. This output does not pass on signals from a SAT
receiver connected to an STB input of the DD 820 M, nor
the DD 820 M's on-screen menus.
Video mode
Change-over switch between:
• S Video (Y/C)
The outer Cinch sockets (Y / G, C / CVBS) deliver an S-
Video / Y/C signal. The inner Cinch sockets (U / B, Y /
R) must not be used in this mode.
• YUV / RGB / CVBS
The C / CVBS socket delivers a Composite Video signal
regardless of the setting in the Video Setup menu. The
other sockets (YUV / RGB) deliver a YUV (YPbPr) signal
or an RGB signal, according to the settings in the Video
Setup menu.
