Assembly
Warning: For your own safety, connect the machine to the
power source only after all of the of the steps to assemble
the machine have been completed and you have read and
understood the operating instructions with all of their safety
and operating notes.
Note: Organize all of the parts that you need for the assem-
bly before you begin. Note the assembly instructions and
follow them carefully with the help of a second person.
Freeing the Intake Slit (fig. 2)
After the saw has been removed from the package, release
the blocking knob of the intake slit (1). When the mitre box
saw is being transported or stored the intake slits must al-
ways be blocked. The slit block knob (1) is on the right side
of the slit.
Assembling the Hand Grip (fig. 1)
The hand grip (9) on the front side must be turned until
it is tight.
Assembly of the Dusk Bag (fig 4)
• In order to install the dust bag (1), press the metal collar
wings (2) together.
• Place the collar opening of the dust bag on the dust sup-
ports (3) and release the metal collar wings.
Assembly of the Screw Vice (fig. 5)
• Place a knuried screw (1) on the back of the machine
body, one for each side.
• Place the screw vice (2) in the prepared drill holes on
the body.
Saw Blade Key (fig. 6)
For practical storage and to prevent loss of the key, there is
a clip for it on the right side of the intake slit.
Note: We strongly recommend that this crown and mitre
box saw be fitted securely on a workbench, so that your
machine is as stable as possible.
• Find and mark the four places on the workbench where
holes are to be drilled.
• Drill the holes into the bench with a ¿ 10 mm bit.
• Screw the crown and mitre box saw with screws, wash-
ers and nuts securely onto the bench. Please be aware
that these fastening elements are not supplied with the
machine.
Start Up
Note: This machine was precisely adjusted before leaving
the factory. Check the precision and adjust it if necessary
in order to achieve the best operating results (see also the
section on corrective measures).
Tool operation
WARNING! Never connect the machine to a power source
before all installation and positioning has been completed
and you have read and understood the safety and operating
instructions.
Basic Operation of the Crown and Mitre Box Saw with Intake
16 english
Function
• Always use a screw vice to hold the materials tightly.
There are two holes on the machine to secure the screw
vice (fig. 5).
• Always position the materials on the surface area. Any
twisted or crooked materials which cannot lie flat on the
table or the surface area can get caught in the saw blade
and should not be used.
• Never put your hands in the area of the saw. Keep your
hands at all times outside of the „Forbidden Hand Area,"
which includes the entire mounting table. This area has
a „No Hands" sign.
Warning: In order to avoid accidents resulting from materi-
als that fly out of the machine, the plug must be taken out
of the socket and then the small pieces removed.
To unlock the saw head when it is in a tilted position:
• Push the saw head (1) and the blocking lever (4) gently
downward.
• Pull out the spring chock (2).
• Bring the saw head into the fully upright position.
Switching on the Saw (fig. 15)
Push the safety grip (1) downward and push the switch (2)
to switch on the saw.
Straight Cut (fig. 16)
• To make a straight cut in a small piece of material, push
the complete saw head down and pull open the slit block
grip (1).
• To saw thicker boards (up to 305 mm), the slit block grip
must be released so that the saw head can move freely.
• Place the materials to be cut on the table, flush against
the chock. Use the screw vice that is attached to the
body of the machine whenever possible.
• Push the safety lever (5) downward and press the on/
off switch (3) to switch on the saw. Move the blade by
means of pressing the grip (4) downward into the mate-
rial with a slow and steady pressure.
• When the cut is complete, press the switch and let the
saw blade come to a full stop before raising the saw
head.
Bevelled Cuts (fig. 17)
This machine is equipped with ten bevelling springs (1) on
the body. They are placed at 0, 15, 22.5, 31.6 and 45 de-
grees to the left and right as well as 60 degrees to the left.
These settings correspond to the most often used bevelled
cuts. Here is how you make a bevelled cut:
• Release the bevelled montage table by lifting up the
quick release (2).
• As you raise the spring grip (3), grab the hand grip (4)
and turn the montage table to the left or right to the
desired angle.
• Lock the spring grip into the desired angle.
Note: The lever can only be locked into one of the ten
locking positions.
• Once the desired bevelling angle has been reached,
press the bevel montage table down in order to fix the
position.
• Should the desired bevelling angle not be one of the ten
presets, simply adjust the table to the desired angle by
pushing the bevelling montage table (2) release down.
Slanted Cuts (fig. 18, 19)
Warning: In order to produce slanted cuts the blade posi-
tion must be fully brought to the left or right. Otherwise
there is not enough room for the saw blade to be carried all
