Commissioning/Operation
Note: If no entry is made for longer than 15 s, the display will return to display
mode. Unconfirmed settings will not be taken over.
Setting the switching points
The PE5 is in display mode:
1.
Press
to show the SP1 menu option.
2.
Press

Exception: -1 to +1bar.
(For rP = 0, select SP < 0 or SP > 0 to change between vacuum and overpressure
switching).
rP = 0: change between SP+ and SP–.
rP (Pmin ....SP-1digit) for SP > 0: Overpressure sensor switching characteristics
rP (Pmax ....SP+1digit) for SP < 0: Vacuum sensor switching characteristics

Confirm the set value by pressing

Repeat steps 1. to 4. to set the resetting point rP1, switching point SP2 and
resetting point rP2 one after the other.
After you have entered the last switching point, you can go back to display mode by

to change to the EF menu.
Configuring the switch output

Using the password function
You can protect the PE5 from unauthorized access by entering a password. If a
password has been assigned, settings can only be changed if the password is

Assigning a new password or changing a password
1.
Select the CodE menu option and confirm the "_ _ _" option by pressing

Reenter the previous code with
If the entry is correct, the display will jump back to the CodE menu option. If the
entry is incorrect, "Code" will appear in the display and the code must be
completely reentered (see steps 1. to 4.)
Deleting a password with the master code
CAUTION
Do not disconnect the PE5 pressure sensor from the voltage source during
operation!
Note: If the code is deleted using the master code, all previous settings will be reset
to the factory settings.
1.
Make sure the system part with the installed PE5 is not under pressure or
voltage.
2.
Disconnect the PE5 from the supply voltage.
3.
Hold down the
supply voltage.
The code function will be reset to oFF and all of the previous settings go back
to the factory settings.
Commissioning the PE5
Before commissioning the system, the following steps must have been carried out
and completed:
• You have fully assembled and connected the PE5.
• You have carried out the presettings and configuration.
CAUTION
Do not make any improper changes to the PE5 during operation. Note that the
previous settings become immediately effective if the SET button is pressed!
Immediately exchange defective pressure sensors.
Do not disconnect the PE5 pressure sensor from the voltage source during
operation!
To commission the PE5:
1.
Apply the operating voltage.

Pressurize the system part to which the PE5 is connected.

Disassembly and Exchange

Disassembling the PE5
CAUTION
Make sure that the system component the PE5 is installed in is not under
pressure or voltage before beginning disassembly.

Remove the pressure sensor from the pressure connection using a wrench
(thread connection) or pull the PE5 straight out of the push-in fitting.

Error and Warning Messages

The following error and warning messages may appear in the PE5 display
