■ Replace the infusion set every two to three days, or
as directed by a healthcare professional.
■ If the infusion site becomes irritated or infected,
replace the infusion set, and use a new site until
the previous site has healed.
■ Use aseptic techniques when temporarily
disconnecting the infusion set. Consult a
healthcare professional for how to compensate
for missed medication while the infusion set is
disconnected.
■ To avoid accidental needle stick injury, never point
a loaded insertion device toward any body part
where insertion is not desired.
■ Check blood glucose one to three hours after
insertion. Measure blood glucose regularly. Consult
a healthcare professional for more information.
■ Do not change the infusion set just before bedtime,
unless blood glucose can be checked one to three
hours after insertion.
■ If blood glucose becomes inexplicably high, or
an occlusion alarm occurs, check the infusion set
for clogs or leaks. If in doubt, change the infusion
set, because the soft cannula may be dislodged.
Discuss a plan with a healthcare professional to
lower blood glucose. Test blood glucose to make
sure the problem is corrected.
■ Carefully monitor blood glucose levels when
disconnected and after reconnecting the infusion
set.
■ Disconnect the tubing with caution by pressing
the grips. A hard pull on the tubing can result
in damage to the infusion set. Ensure that the
infusion set is properly in place when the tubing is
fully disconnected.
Serious incident
■ If, during the use of this device, or as a result of its
use a serious incident occurs, report the incident to
the manufacturer and to the national authority.

Storage and disposal

■ Store the infusion set in a cool, dry location at room
temperature. Do not store the infusion set in direct
sunlight or high humidity.
■ Store and handle insulin according to the
manufacturer's instructions.
■ Put the lid back on the insertion device and
dispose in a proper sharps container according to
local laws, to avoid the risk of needle stick injury.
■ Dispose of a used infusion set according to local
regulations for biohazardous waste.
