5. Installation

5.1 Installation process

circumstances from the risk analysis prepared as per the industrial safety ordinance.
We recommend the use a broad mobile scaffold with ladder cage e.g. Stabilo 5000 with
2 platforms for the installation. The installation of ladder parts must be carried out from
top to bottom, as the uppermost step must lie at the height of the exit level as per the
standard. The subsequent ladder parts can be attached below with the ladder connec-
tors. The lowest ladder must be cut to length if required, on the site.
A platform can be removed for the installation of the safety cage and the railing of the
scaffold can be moved next to the remaining platform. Thus a safe installation of the
ladder cage is possible.
Lifting platforms or facade scaffolding with consoles can also be used. Similar, equiv-
alent, safe installation processes can be followed in compliance with the accident pre-
vention regulations in any other way.
Suggestion for installation sequence; the details are available in the system dimensions
and installation manuals of the individual parts.
1. The uppermost ladder with the uppermost step must be assembled at the height
of the exit via suitable wall anchors at the building wall.
2. Exit rails and eventual exit platforms, safety gate or crossovers must be
attached on the roof.
3. Ladder cages or arresters must be mounted on the installed ladder.
4. Other ladders must be screwed below, alternating with arrester or the safety cage
5. Eventually required transfer platforms, rest platforms, base platforms, extension
platforms, intermediate floors etc. must be attached on the planned levels.
6. The lowermost ladder must be accordingly cut to length, connected to the ladder on
it, and if necessary, the base plates must be fixed in the ladder so that they lie on the
ground with load-dissipating ability. Fix base plates with on site anchoring means on
the ground. After this, screw the ladders to the wall with wall anchors.
7. Inspection of the ladder system by a competent person and release of the system.
Attachment of the identification plate to the entry points of the ladder system.
