3. Safety regulations
3.1 Prior to the installation
The following points must be checked, followed and implemented prior to the
installation:
– The structural stability must be checked by an expert and on the site, it must be
ensured that the conditions for safe installation exist.
– The ground on which the ladder is mounted must have adequate load-bearing ca-
pacity and should be able to absorb and direct the required forces (see Point 2.3.1 to
2.3.6) in all the points.
– Only install the safety cage or fall protection. Safety cage and fall protection system
should not be assembled in parallel at a ladder.
– Do not use fall protection system for emergency exit ladders.
3.2 Proper use
– The ladder system is designed for use as climbing support for persons in accordance
to the valid standards.
– Use only the original parts of the manufacturer for installation and servicing.
– A mixing of parts of other manufacturers is not permitted, as it can cause safety
issues.
– The ladder should not be used for transporting loads.
– Only parts that are not damaged should be used.
3.3 Duties of the contractor
It must be determined via risk and load analysis prior to the installation as to
whether risks are present on the planned installation site by which personnel
could be injured.
Systems, machines and areas must be safeguarded adequately so that no danger exists
to personnel due to them.
This installation manual must be provided to the operators and the users.
Facilitate the preparation of an operating manual for the operations via the contractor,
which includes all the information that is necessary for safe operation:
– Hazard identification
– Behavior while using the product
– Behavior if defects are determined
