Insert a quick-coupler probe in the combination valve quick-coupler (Refer to appendix Nr 2
to get information about connecting / disconnecting procedure of quick coupler type on your
product),
Venting through the combination valve quick-coupler must only be performed with
appropriate quickcoupler probe. Contact GCE for further information about quick-
coupler probe available for your product.

Wait until the cylinder has completely been vented – at least until pressure indicator enters
red zone
Perform cylinder venting in well-ventilated areas to avoid oxygen saturation of ambient

atmosphere, which could result in an increased danger of fire.

Turn off at the shut-off valve by turning the hand wheel in a clockwise direction to stop
position. Do not use excessive force (Maximum recommended closing torque is 3 Nm).

Remove the quick-coupler probe,
If in filling process the content of medical gas primary package is quickly vented, GCE
recommends that the provider should check that venting parameters (pressure, flow,
time, ...) are compatible with the product. Contact GCE for further information about
correct venting parameter of your product.
6b
DISTRIBUTOR OPERATIONS
6b.1 BEFORE USE
The hereunder operations are performed for instance by the provider (operator) of
the device, trained hospital staff or emergency care staff or trained supplier ensuring
delivery of complete medical package to the user, patient.
Visual inspection before use
•
Check if there is visible damage on the medical gas primary package (including product
labels and marking). If it shows signs of external damages, remove the product from service
and suitably identify its status.
•
Visually check if the medical gas primary package is contaminated; if needed, apply the
cleaning procedure hereunder.
•
Ensure turning-off at the shut-off valve by turning the hand wheel in a clockwise direction
to ZERO position. Do not use excessive force (Maximum recommended closing torque is 2
Nm)
•
Set flow control knob on ZERO position - ensure that the flow control knob engages correctly.
Remove caps from flow outlet and/or pressure outlet. Keep caps in a safe place for
reuse during transport or storage.
Leak-tight check before use
•
Set flow control knob (if any) on ZERO position - ensure the flow control knob engages
correctly.
•
Open slowly the combination shut-off valve by turning the hand wheel in anticlockwise
direction approx 1 to 1½ turns.
Sudden opening could result in a danger of fire or explosion arising from oxygen
pressure shocks. Insufficient opening of the shut-off valve could reduce actual flow
delivered.
•
Visually and by sound check possible leakages from:
•
flow outlet
•
filling port
