package if pressure indicator enters red zone.
Flow outlet
Before connecting any accessory to the flow outlet make sure that the patient is not
connected before using the valve.
•
Ensure that the hose/humidifier is compatible with the flow outlet features.
•
Push hose onto the regulator flow outlet/screw-on the humidifier.
•
Ensure that the hose/humidifier is well engaged/screwed-on.
6b.3 AFTER USE
•
Turn off at the shut-off valve by turning the hand wheel in a clockwise direction to stop

position. Do not use excessive force.
•
Ensure the flow control knob (if any) is on ZERO position.
•
Disconnect all downstream equipment from user outlets.
•
Refit pressure outlet and flow outlet protection cap. Before refitting the caps, ensure they
are clean.
OPERATIONS PERFORMED BY THE USER / PATIENT

6c.1 USE OF USER OUTLET CONNECTIONS
Use of product through the flow outlet (Flow setting)
•
Ensure that the flow control knob is on ZERO position
•
Ensure that the accessory is not connected to the flow outlet.
•
Open slowly the combination shut-off valve by turning the hand wheel in anticlockwise
direction approx 1 to 1½ turns.
Sudden opening could result in a danger of fire or explosion arising from oxygen
pressure shocks. Insufficient opening of the shut-off valve could reduce actual flow
delivered.
•
Set flow control knob on one required of the available flow rates.
Always ensure that the flow control knob has been engaged and not placed between
two settings otherwise the flow control head will not deliver correct or any flow of
medical gas.
The same variants of flow control head can have an "end stop" in between the maximum
flow position and the zero position. Do not try to apply an excessive torque on the flow
control knob when it stops on the maximum flow position (during clockwise rotation)
or in zero position (anti-clockwise rotation).
Medical gas flow rate must be prescribed by a doctor.
After completion of the therapy
•
Turn off at the shut-off valve by turning the hand wheel in a clockwise direction to stop
position. Do not use excessive force.
•
Vent gas pressure from downstream equipment.
•
Reset flow control knob on ZERO position when it's not venting anymore - until the flow
control knob engages
•
Disconnect the tube from the flow outlet.
Use of product through pressure outlet
•
Ensure that the flow control knob is on ZERO position (if any).
•
Ensure that the accessory IS NOT connected to the pressure outlet.
•
Open slowly the combination shut-off valve by turning the hand wheel in anticlockwise
direction approx 1 to 1½ turns.
