Air cleaner PF1000
WARNING
Carbon monoxide return
If the device is used in closed premises carbon
monoxide may be returned due to combustion pro-
cesses such as in fireplaces, boilers, ovens, stoves,
water heaters and air conditioning- This may cause
carbon monoxide poisoning and asphyxiation.
a) Switch off all equipment using combustion pro-
cesses in the vicinity of the vacuum area and
safeguard them against being switched on
again.
If the filter change display illuminates during opera-
tion
– first change the first stage filter and then restart
the device.
– If the display stays on then change the main fil-
ter.
Further information is given in Replacing the filter

Changing air hosing location
The device intake hose and the device itself must be
as close as possible to where the air contamination
arises. If the distance between intake hosing and lo-
cation of air contamination generation increases
then the efficiency of contamination filtration by the
device drops disproportionately.
To improve efficiency where the contamination
arises HEYLO offers a base for the hosing supports
at the intake end. To raise the height of the hosing
end the hosing can be secured using adjustable
straps to telescopic rods.
Prompt installation of outlet hosing must be ensured.
Air hosing must be installed as straight as possible.
This may make DIY installation essential, e.g. slant-
ing with wooden planking to surmount height differ-
ences. Cross-section narrowing due to bends in the
intake hosing increases intake airflow. Cross-section
36 / 50
narrowing of the outlet hosing leads to a reduction in
outlet airflow.
Intake hosing is to be so arranged as to extract con-
taminated air from any person's breathing area and
supply fresh or cleaned air thereto.
Cleaned exhaust air from the device is to be
pumped to well ventilated areas or the open air. Re-
turn of cleaned air to the work area is only permissi-
ble if adequate ventilation with fresh air is simultane-
ously ensured. A second air filtering device may be
needed here to ensure ventilation of the room /
space in which the air is to be cleaned. Always ad-
here to local occupational health and safety rules.
Required air change rate
This depends on the type and quantity of air contam-
ination. Air change rates between 3x and 20x the
volume of the room / space in which the air is to be
cleaned may accordingly be required. Substance-re-
lated air change rates may be required by the re-
sponsible authorities and institutions. The employ-
ers' liability insurance for building trades in Germany
(BG-BAU) requires an air change rate of 15.
In Germany the workplace limit for A class dust con-
taining quartz is 1.5 mg/m³ and for E-class dust
10 mg/m³ (Technical Rules for Hazardous Sub-
stances [TRGS] 900).
Implementation calculation
An air change rate of 15 is laid down for a room vol-
ume of 40 m³.
The air quantity needed is 15 x 40 m³, a minimum of
600 m³/hr. The device supplies about 600 m³/hr
when the Filter Change display activates.
The air change rate is thus adequate.
