Operating Precautions
Th is product is a class 2 laser product using a semiconductor laser with a wavelength of 655 nm (5 mW). Users and
manufacturers must follow relevant safety standards.
• Do not look directly into the detector head when the power is on.
Th is product uses a semiconductor laser (wavelength: 655 nm). Th e emitted laser beams are hazardous to the human
body.
• Never connect or disconnect the LASERSCALE connector while power is on. Doing so may break the detector head.
• Take care not to touch the connector pins. Doing so might cause malfunctions. Likewise, also take care not to touch the
connector pins when connectors are disconnected while wiring the device. When there is a risk that connector pins may
be touched, perform the work with conductive plastic bags covering the connectors. Th e connectors on the interface unit
have protective cap attached. Do not remove the protective cap until connecting with peripheral machines and devices.
• Do not pull at the cable forcibly or bend it excessively. {Bending radius (inside) Static: 10 mm or more, non-operating}
• Use the BF1 Series approximately 30 minutes aft er power is supplied to the unit, when the temperature of the detector
head reaches a stable state.
• Th e BF1 Series is a precision measuring instrument. Handle it with extreme care so that no excessive shock is applied to
it. For transport, be sure to pack it in the same way as it was packed at the time of purchase. Be sure to always attach the
protective cap to the connector.
