4.3 Mode of operation

The equipment acts as a speed controller with secondary current control. Due to an internally
supplied armature voltage converter, it is also possible to set up a EMF-control without tacho
generator. The thyristor power section comprises a half-controlled single-phase AC bridge in
connection B2HKF.
A number of supplementary and auxiliary functions are already incorporated in the basic unit:
•
Ramp function generator;
•
High-precision setpoint value source ± 10 V;
•
Fine adjustment of the actual speed value;
•
Simple optimization of the speed controller by separate setting of the P and I action
components;
•
Automatic adaption to 50 or 60 Hz power supply frequency;
•
Limit-value monitor for speed or current;
•
Plug-in locations for technology modules (plug connection and power supply margin of the
power supply section);
•
Plug-in type terminals for the external signal connections;
•
Mounting locations for field fuses.
