11. Before flying

Before each flight, follow the steps below in the specified order.

11.1 Check the model for damage

• Check the model for signs of damage. Repair any damage before the next flight.
• The wheels must be able to turn freely.
• If you require spare parts, refer to the instructions in section 17.1 Spare parts.

11.2 Charging the flight battery

Never charge the flight battery immediately after use. Always leave it to cool down first (min. 5–10
mins).
Always disconnect the battery from the charger after charging. If the battery is not disconnected, it
may be permanently damaged due to deep discharge.
To charge the flight battery, connect the charger to a USB power supply (do not use a computer USB port). A USB
power adapter for charging smartphones is sufficient.
1. Connect the battery to the socket on the charging cable.
2. Connect the charger to the USB power supply (5 V/min. 300 mA).
3. The charging indicator on the charger will switch on and the battery will start to charge.
Wait until the charging indicator turns off.
- Charging time: approx. 45 minutes
4. Unplug the charger from the USB power supply and then disconnect the battery.

11.3 Ready the remote control

1. Switch on the remote control via the on/off switch (R2).
2. The remote control will beep and the indicator light will flash before staying constant.
3. Move the left-hand joystick (R14) for the motor function to the lowest position.
4. Make sure that the right-hand joystick (R4) is in the central position.
