Only a 230~V/50Hz mains socket may be used as source of power for
the plug-in power unit. Never try to operate the device on a different
voltage.
Always pull the plug-in power unit out of the socket by the casing,
never by the cable!
The plug-in power unit may never be plugged in or out with wet
hands.
Electrical devices must be kept out of the reach of children. Special
attention must be paid if children are present as children may try to
insert objects into the device. There is the risk of a fatal electric shock!
Always unplug the plug-in power unit from the mains socket!
- before cleaning the device
- in case of thunderstorms
- if you will not be using the device for a longer period
Never place the device on an unstable or moving base. If it fell, per-
sons could be injured or the device damaged.
Live components may be exposed if covers are opened or parts are
removed unless if this can be done by hand. Connection points may
also be live. Before calibrating, servicing, repair work or the replace-
ment of parts or assemblies, the device must be disconnected from all
sources of current if the device has to be opened. If servicing and
repair on the open device is unavoidable, it may only be carried out by
a specialist who is familiar with the hazards involved and with the
relevant regulations.
Never switch on the device immediately after it has been taken from a
cold to a warm room. Under certain circumstances, the condense
water developing may destroy the complete product. Allow the device
to reach room temperature before switching it on. Wait until the con-
densation water has evaporated. This can take some hours.

• Using the control "CUE PAN" (6), you can determine whether you can hear the sig-
nal of the channel CH1 or the channel CH2 or a mixture of both channels on the
headphones.
• You can listen to the input signal without it being reproduced on the connected
amplifier. This will enable you, for example. in cross-fading/mixing to find the cor-
rect point.
Cross-fading/mixing
• Using the CROSSFADER (12) you can cross-fade/mix between the signals of the
channels CH1 and CH2.
• The one channel is faded out on operating the CROSS-FADER (12) (becomes qui-
eter), at the same time, the other channel is faded in (becomes louder).
• In the central position, both channels are reproduced equally.
Setting microphone
• Set the control "MIC-LEVEL" (1) to the left stop position "0".
• Speak into the microphone.
• Increase the volume of the microphone slowly by turning the control "MASTER" in
the clockwise direction until the desired level has been reached.
• The microphone signal is not influenced by the channel fader.
Use of sound control
• Using the sound controls "HIGH" and "LOW" (15), the sound of the signal of the
inputs (CH1, CH2 and MIC) can be set.
HIGH influences the reproduction in the high-tone range
LOW influences the reproduction in the bass range
Left control stop = maximum reduction
Right control stop = maximum increase
Central position = no influence through the control
Cross-start feature
• The fader start feature controls through the end stop of the CROSS-FADER the
reproduction feature of CD players which are connected to the connections FAD-
ER START A and FADER START B (16). The CD player has to correspond to the
standard of the "American Audio Q series".
• Switch the switch the "FADER-START" (10) to the FADER-START position,
The feature is now active.
