5. Replacing the batteries

To ensure that the batteries still provide enough voltage for the
measurements, short the probes. If no signal sounds or a battery
symbol appears in the display, the batteries must be replaced.
Make sure that the voltage tester is not connected to any object.
Remove the battery compartment by unscrewing the screw on the
bottom of the device (see sample image). Pay attention to the
correct polarity when inserting the batteries. After replacing the
batteries, close the battery compartment and screw it back in place.
