technical documentation supplied. The pump must be submerged when running. To ensure
effective cooling of the motor, the minimum capacity of the pump must be 60l/h.
7.2. Internal protection
The 3TP pump is fitted with an electronic protection for the motor.
• Overload : The pump is fitted with a special function which reduces the speed in the
case of overload. Fewer revs. means less power absorbed and therefore energy
saving. If the overload remains, once 70Hz are reached the electronic system stops
the pump and then starts it again once the machine has cooled down.
• Dry running
power factor during running time. If there is no water the power absorbed by the
pump decreases under the minimum level and the pump stops in order to avoid
burning out the motor and the pump. The pump starts up again automatically after 20
minutes, but in the case of a second dry run, the pump starts up again after 45
minutes, then 6 hours and in the end it restarts again after 24 hours. If the dry running
continues, the electronic system goes into a permanent alarm phase. To start up the
3TP again, the supply must be removed for about one minute.
• Overvoltage and undervoltage:
this protection cuts the power supply to the motor and then restores the power supply
only if the voltage returns to the values stipulated on the plate.
• Arresters:
from other occasional overloads, including atmospheric ones.
• Overheating:
speed and consequently the power absorbed and the heat being produced are
reduced too. If the temperature does not return within limits at 70 Hz the pump stops
automatically until the temperature has returned within the permitted limits.
The pump reset is carried out by removing the power supply for a minute, unless it goes into an
alarm state through overheating. In this case, the pump will only start up again after complete
cooling.
7.3 Storage
The 3TP pump can be stored either vertically or horizontally in a dry place and away from direct
sunlight. When storing in a horizontal position care should be taken to avoid bending in the
centre, so the pump should have adeguate support, but any further precautions are not
necessary.
7.4 Start-up after storage
When putting the pump back into service after a long period of inaction, or storage, check that
the data on the plate correspond to the type of installation to be carried out.
The 3TP pump does not normally need any maintenance.
